Welcome to Middle School,
Hello 6th grade Families and Middle School Mathematicians!
My name is Mrs. Tina Doeve. I have been in education for over 20 years. I began as an aide, PE instructor, and after school program director while I attended LMU in the 90's. I became a classroom teacher in 1995 teaching 3rd grade. I taught in both the public and private sectors. After I had my second child, I took a 12 year break from being a full time teacher to raise my children. I will forever be grateful for the blessing of having that amazing time with my boys. I remained in the classroom as a parent volunteer and as an occasional substitute teacher. I returned to teaching in 2012 at St. Frances of Rome school. I am happy to have been called to be part of such an amazing team of educators. I am currently the 6th grade homeroom/social studies teacher and middle school math teacher.
I LOVE MATH! I believe it to be a very important life skill. I approach teaching math logically while implementing common core standards. It is my hope students will become comfortable with math and appreciate its value.
I encourage students to try their best, acknowledging mistakes as opportunities to learn. Mastery comes with practice. All students are capable of achieving success.
